Taylor Lautner may be about to pin down another role.
Seemingly seconds after he booked yet another post-Jacob job, sources tell E! News that the 17-year-old actor is in talks to put his New Moon abs to good use in a remake of the 1985 drama Vision Quest.
Which is not what it sounds like—a cheesy sci-fi flick—but rather a coming-of-age romance that featured Madonna’s “Crazy for You” as its theme song and starred Matthew Modine as a high school wrestling star who falls in love with an artist—a permtastic Linda Fiorentino—his dad has taken in as a boarder.
Why remake? Let’s just re-release that! But Taylor may have another vision.

Dear Ted:
Was that really make-up on Nicole Kidman’s nose? I realize it takes a lot of powder to cover up all that shiny plastic, but yikes! Who will she fire over this? Love ya,
—Lynn, Milford, CT
Dear All Powdered Up:
Plastic what? You mean her perpetually frozen forehead? Regardless, I think everything Nic covered up with Tom all those years is clearly having a residual effect.

1. Hidden wolves
”Look for an upside-down engraving of a wolf in the shot of the bowl in which Carlisle burns his first-aid equipment; on Jacob’s T-shirt when he meets Bella in the school parking lot for the first time; and a wolf trinket on the dream-catcher that he gives her.”
2. Vampire elevator music
”When Edward, Bella, and Alice get into the elevator on their way to see the Volturi, the music playing in the elevator is from Strauss’ Die Fledermaus (a.k.a. The Bat).”
More after the break!

Big year at the movies, right? Aliens, vampires, drunk guys with babies and Sandra Bullock all kept us from thinking too hard about health care or war or whatever was actually happening—who can tell with all these aliens and vampires everywhere!
As our Best of 2009 extravaganza continues, it’s time to see what you loved the best. The critics and Big Hollywood dig The Hurt Locker and Precious and such (see E! Online critics’ picks here), but then everybody went to see New Moon, Transformers 2 and—apparently—Avatar instead.
So what’s the best movie of 2009? You tell us—take the poll or drop your pick in comments:

Taylor Lautner is hot and, apparently, he’s also a hot commodity.
Summit Entertainment is making sure to keep its New Moon star in the family by signing him up for Cancun, his first nonwolfman film.
In fact, the flick is so family-friendly, Taylor’s dad, Dan, is producing it for the father-son joint venture Tailor Made Entertainment, which was created to develop film and television vehicles for the 17-year-old.
Yes, we know news broke a few weeks ago that Taylor is lined up to play the title role in Paramount’s potential franchise Max Steel. However, it looks like Cancun will now come first.
Now, as for what Taylor Swift’s muscleman will be doing…
